The missions of The Residency / Le Tremblay are to maintain powerful cultural propositions, to build bridges between artistic fields, and to provide a forum for discussions.
Although a line of action has been sketched out, the forms of this could evolve as ideas and encounters arise. The freedom to allow ourselves the opportunity of taking sidesteps is essential for La Résidence to reflect the art: constantly thinking, constantly evolving.
So that a praxis, an artwork are always “active” and valorised, a research grant and a residency have been created, in connection with the Artists’ Fund managed by the Galerie Christophe Gaillard.
The Residency / Le Tremblay is deployed across four sites:
. The Château, a prestigious seventeenth-century setting in which an ensemble of exceptional artworks are shown and where guests are invited, in a context entirely dedicated to art and art of living.
. The Artist’s Studio and apartment, above an entirely renovated homestead.
. The Exhibition Room on the ground floor garden level of the homestead.
. The 14-hectare Park, gorgeous French-style gardens and kitchen garden, featuring a fountain by Hélène Delprat and sculptures.
The programme is open to all artistic forms and will host emerging or confirmed, French or foreign artists, without distinction, by invitation or a call for projects.
In particular, The Residency / Le Tremblay will celebrate sculpture in the form of exhibitions and a symposium. -
